- Coats of Joy - An Annual Holiday Coat Drive

In an effort to keep those in need warm during the chilly winter months, local image consultant, style expert and author, Milena Joy is teaming up with clothing boutiques around the city for the first ever Coats of Joy Coat Drive. The drive begins today, Monday, November 22, and will run through the month of December. The need for support in our local community is great – and Coats of Joy is an easy way for anyone to help.

Donations of clean, gently used coats and jackets of all shapes and sizes and for women, men and children will be accepted from November 22 through December 31, during regular business hours at any one of three drop-off locations around the city. Each of the following boutiques has generously offered to serve as a drop-off location and is also offering 20% off the original price of a new coat when an old one is donated.

All coats will be donated to the Denver Rescue Mission and distributed to individuals in need of some warmth this holiday season. With over 11,000 homeless men, women and children living in the Denver metro area on any given night, the Denver Rescue Mission provides shelter, food, clothing, education, religious teaching, work discipline and medical treatment to meet individuals at their physical and spiritual points of need. The donation of coats will help the Mission provide those it serves with some extra warmth during the cold winter months.

As stated by Milena Joy, organizer of Coats of Joy and owner of Milena Distinctive Image Consulting, “I have always been passionate about public service and doing what I can to help those in need. The Coats of Joy coat drive is one way for me to give something back – and to also engage some of the boutiques that I partner with on a regular basis outside of the work we do every day. I can only hope that the local community helps us keep those in need warm this holiday season.”

- October 14, 2010 - Junior League of Denver Holiday Mart

Milena Joy will be at the Junior League of Denver's Frosting event held at the annual Holiday Mart.  She will give fashion advice and tips for this season's trendies holiday styles.  A diamond donated by Douly's Jewelry will be given away to one lucky Frosting guest. Mini Mani’s by Tootsie’s Nail Shoppe, Holiday Make Up by Darcey Kramer, SurReal Vodka Martini’s, Sweet Treats by Happy Cakes Bakeshop, hors d’oeuvres, Frosting by Holiday Mart Merchants, Holiday Hunt, Silent Auction and much more. First 200 guests will receive Frosting’s Fabulous Swag Bag.
